Keeping aside as precious things one’s creative abilities thanks to a technical training which will enable the realization of a concept. This is the work of a modern designer and therefore the aim of the course, which can be reached thanks to the cooperation with experts and professionals aware of any aspect of this job and willing to pass their knowledge to new and fresh talents. Being able to carry on a professional ideational research, being able to communicate a message through a collection, following the realization processes of what has been created: these are the important elements of an educational pathway developed in 2 years which will be guiding students up to the realisation of their own collection that will be presented during a final fashion parade organized in order to promote new designers. The educational pathway is spread over 2 years to guarantee the completeness of the professional competences, but it is also possible to attend only one year according to the needs and the expectations of the participant. First Year Fashion Plate Techniques to man-woman hand made fashion plate, from the proportions to the anatomical parts up to dress drawing and colouring. Practical exercises for the realization of one’s presentation album in a professional way. Textile study of commodities Deep knowledge of the products study of commodities characteristics of fibres, yarns and textiles Fashion Historical Evolution The historical evolution of clothing from prehistory to nowadays, focusing on the more meaningful historical moments in relation to the meaning of the word “getting dressed”. This course has the aim of studying and analysing the connections between fashion and communication through the study of art history. Stylism The profession of a stylist, from creative investigation to the planning of the collection through the simulation on really feasible cases and business projects. The research of future trends for the creation of man-woman identikit. Pattern Making The most advance techniques to create paper pattern and their modifications to the final realization of one’s creative ideas. Fashion Graphic Design Digital graphic applied to the fashion sector. Use of the main computer graphic software, essential for the modern designer and to enter into the business world. Guided Tours The first year two visits have been planned, the first one to Pitti in Florence and the second one to the Fondazione Cerratelli, the biggest collection of historical and cinematographic clothes in Europe. In case of exhibitions considered important for the relation to the professional development, extraordinary tours can be arranged. Second Year
The knowledge of fashion trends is essential for a young designer. The exhibitions of the sector are a helpful instrument. The second year proposes two optional tours: Milan Moda Unica and Première Vision Paris. Collection Design This is a key course of the training pathway. The deepened stylistic competence, applied in the creation of a collection, while bearing in mind all the learning process to get there, under the supervision of designers and professionals working in this field. Advanced Graphic Design The final acquisition of the skills in using Photoshop and the new Adobe Illustrator, the most used software in the fashion sector. Within this course students will accomplish the realization of their own presentation album in all its aspects, form the creation of their Logo to the final pagination. Applied Pattern Making Pattern making techniques applied on the collection’s items, realistic simulation of patterns’ preparation for the prototype-making stage. Dress Prototype-Making Each participant will have the opportunity to create prototypes of his own collection and to plan the coming out of them during the final fashion parade. Self – Marketing This is a very personal-related course, which helps students to promote themselves and their own professionalism. Creating their own personal profile in a winning way also thanks to the competences developed in the Fashion Graphic Design Course and thanks to the web space, the Institute puts at student’s disposal to gather all the works performed within the course. From the Curriculum Vitae to the portfolio of their own creative proposals. Internship The wide network of firms working together with Modartech Institute offers the opportunity to attend a highly instructive internship in Italy or abroad. Final Fashion Parade Modartech Group will organize an entire evening in which the cloth items created by the young designers will parade. Press, companies and insiders will be also present. Training Methodology Theoretical lessons, workshop, visits to firms The single course will be carried on by professionals and teachers with a well-established work and teaching experience in this sector. So their approach will be finalized to provide constantly updated technical competences, which can be helpful in the prompt insertion in working contexts. The Institute puts at participants’ disposal all the didactical materials in digital format, downloadable from the dedicated section in Modartech portal. At the moment of enrolling each participant will receive a personal password to free access the dedicated section, where all the course related texts, images and video can be found. With the same password students can also access the self-marketing portal offered by the Institute. Here they can place curricula, profiles and works, being this an auto-promotion instruments which represents a reference point for all the Modartech Group companies looking for trained personnel. Duration and Timetable Starting date: October. First Year: Every day from 9.00 am to 1.00 pm Second Year: Every day from 2.00 pm to 6.00 pm Synergy and Cooperation Modartech is a public-private Consortium joining together training professionals with a network of firms continuously evolving and growing in this sector. Technicians and entrepreneurs of some of the most representative companies of the sectors of intervention are members of the Technical Scientific Committee and collaborate to the training planning to guarantee learning pathways in line with market’s requirements.
