Placed in Pontedera, in Piaggio industrial spaces where the iconic Vespa was designed and produced, between the historical and artistic towns of Florence and Pisa, Modartech is located in the heart of Tuscany, full of innovation, culture and design. A unique land where clothing, luxury shoes, accessories and top quality leather producers are concentrated.

Connected to Modartech there is a strong network of manufactures and artisans, footwear design studios, high quality tanneries and hi-tech companies.
International students will have the opportunity to be immersed in such an environment for a once in a life time training experience.

A perfect concentration of highly specialized leather companies compose the Leather Industrial District of S. Croce sull’Arno, the full process from tanning to the finished top quality leather. The Footwear District of Castelfranco, with manufacturing companies which design and produce shoes for the most important international fashion brand, and the Textile & Apparel District of Empoli, famous worldwide for the hand made quality of coats, raincoats, outerwear and leather garments, furthermore the Hi-Tech District “Arno Valley” where universities, research centers and IT companies work on robotics, rapid prototyping, web solutions, innovative materials.

The collaboration with institutions, companies, excellences of the territory – the Institute of Bio robotics of the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna, the Piaggio Foundation, the G. Gronchi Library – led to the creation of a Training Centre for Creative Disciplines at Pontedera, point of reference in the design, cultural, innovation and research area.
