It is inspired by Japanese culture starting from the dualism of yin and yang and from the mythological legend of “koi carp” using scraps of fabric and recycled accessories giving them a new life and creating graphic motifs using the laser technique.
Sustainability has now become an essential requirement for a fashion item, a feature that designers pay more and more attention to. And sustainability is precisely the theme at the center of the Fashioning Sustainability Contest 2023, in which 19 fashion academies from all over Europe took part.
The contest jury saw the participation of representatives of important companies such as Freudenberg, Armani, Dolce&Gabbana, Area NYC, Tod’s, Caruso, Vitale Barberis Canonico, Hugo Boss, Martin Margiela, Asahi Kasei, ready to view the creative projects of young talents.
A selection of second year students of the Fashion Design degree course was asked to provide a personal interpretation of sustainable and innovative fashion by creating an outfit capable of combining fashion trends with sustainability, using an interlining from the Freudenberg sustainable range .
