Project for the creation of an ecological and innovative outfit starting from a sustainable fashion interpretation.
The sustainability, a strategic element that fashion companies increasingly choose to include in their business model, is a real development lever that will become an indispensable value in the near future to be successful on the market.
The centrality of sustainability in the fashion system requires a strong focus on this element within the training of tomorrow’s designers; future generations of talents will not be able to ignore these competences.
Social responsibility is one of the key values of Istituto Modartech that shows a marked sensitivity towards the environment and attention to everything that can be ecological, recyclable and environmentally sustainable.
Freudenberg, a company based in Germany, started to deal with sustainability even before the topic became current, as Simone Visani, Apparel Europe Freudenberg sales director explains, going to certify all interlinings according to OekoTex standards that guarantee the absence of substances harmful to health and the environment.
It was also the first company to use recycled material deriving from PET bottles to make thermoadhesives. The company has also developed a new PES wadding, largely recycled, made with a special process, capable of replacing goose feathers as a result of heat and hand.
The objective of “Fashioning Sustainability” is to promote cooperation and exchange between students and industry and to draw attention to sustainability as a key element of innovation.
A selection of second year students from the Fashion Design Course supported by students of CAD Apparel Pattern Making course was asked to provide a personal interpretation of sustainable and innovative fashion, creating an ecological and innovative outfit that combines fashion trends with sustainability.
A jury of design experts, opinion leaders and industry journalists will select the 3 best creations that will participate in a fashion show at an international event that will take place in Verona on September 13th.
The project, that combines design and planning, sustainability and innovation, once again identifies the Modartech training offer in line with the real and concrete demands of businesses and the world of work.
The educational setting of the didactics combines creativity, technique, practice and technology and allows to implement in the creations its own vision, style and personality; thus stimulating the creativity and talent of the students.
