Modartech wins at AltaRoma

Fabio Pucci, a Fashion Design student, was awarded the special prize for the best modeling proposal.

“For taking up craftsmanship and tailoring with a modern language and attention to social intent”.

With this motivation, Fabio Pucci, a third year student of the Fashion Design Course, was awarded the special prize for the best modeling proposal of the “XXVIII National Competition of Young Fashion Designers CNA Federmoda – RMI 2018” in collaboration with Rome with AltaRoma.

Pucci, 21, of Monsummano Terme (Pistoia), the only student of a Tuscan institution to participate in the competition, brought the fruit of three years of study at the Institute on the Roman catwalk, combining know-how and attention to detail , the passion for tailoring, the recovery of traditional techniques and attention to the environment. A selection of women’s outfits that “recover ancient sartorial traditions – explained the very young designer – with handmade frames. My idea, just to highlight the importance of manual and “handmade”, was to leave the tacking in view, as in a sort of “unfinished” result of a study that looks at the techniques used in the past by the great designers, like Cristobal Balenciaga, who inspired me”. Attention also to sustainability with the use of materials strictly made in Italy at kilometer 0 and by adopting the recycling of fabrics.

The event – organized by CNA Federmoda – since 1991 offers opportunities for young people to enter the world of fashion and companies to tap into new creative life. 23 finalists, coming from specialized schools throughout Italy, who contended for the prizes made available by the organization thanks to the collaboration of many prestigious partners.

I can only be proud of this result – commented Alessandro Bertini, director of the Institute – because it shows that the commitment of our children, combined with the skills of the teaching staff, leads to the achievement of great goals. The recognition as the Best Modeling Proposal makes me particularly proud, because Modartech has always made one of the Institute’s flagships, combined with research and experimentation, know-how, technical and design aspects and the quality of the products made with its own hands. with an eye that is always attentive to sustainability”.
