Fashion Incubator Project

An initiative by CFMI ACADEMY to develop entrepreneurial projects in the fashion world.

The CFMI Academy project was created through the synergy between the Centro di Firenze per la Moda Italiana, Pitti Immagine and UniCredit, with the collaboration of Piattaforma Sistema Formativo Moda ETS and Polimoda. It is an initiative aimed at strengthening the connection between education and the business world, offering students from leading Italian fashion academies a concrete opportunity to engage with the real challenges of the fashion industry.

The goal is to stimulate entrepreneurial ideas and launch a new generation of creatives, designers and entrepreneurs in the fashion sector—a field currently undergoing significant change—thus fostering encounters between young talents and industry companies.

Among the Italian academies, Istituto Modartech was selected with two teams composed of students from the three-year Fashion Design and Communication Design programs. This synergy of skills represents a concrete example of multidisciplinarity among different creative profiles, capable of generating projects rich in vision and content. The innovative approach and strong team spirit demonstrated by the teams have been key factors in encouraging stimulating connections between diverse backgrounds.

Misbah, Giorgia, and Francesca presented IDERZ, a platform created by young designers to support future talents in the design world. By combining human expertise with artificial intelligence, IDERZ offers consulting services on design, production, and technical aspects, providing advanced research tools and tailored suggestions to enhance each fashion designer’s creative identity.

Anna, Chiara, and Marta developed FUR U, a new concept of fur that looks to the future without forgetting tradition. Starting from a critical analysis of the sector, currently divided between synthetic and animal-derived materials, FUR U proposes a sustainable third way: the use of recycled raw materials sourced from discarded natural-origin garments. This project combines craftsmanship, respect for tradition, and an ethical vision of luxury.

The two groups were supported by mentoring sessions with prestigious professionals, experts, and companies from the fields of design, innovation, research, fashion, and finance. The project featured two key moments of engagement: the first during Pitti Filati in January, and the second in May during the e-P Summit. The initiative will conclude with the final presentation of the project ideas during Pitti Filati in July, where awards will be given to the most deserving projects.
