Modartech and U.S. Città Pontedera have joined forces in a collaboration that enhances the local territory and innovation, bringing together two important realities from the Valdera area. From this partnership, together with technical sponsor Erreà, the new official garnet jersey for the 2026/27 sports season was created.
The project involved students from the Communication Design degree course, who were actively engaged in the creative and development process of the kit, with the goal of designing a jersey capable of representing Pontedera’s visual identity while combining aesthetics, comfort, and performance through the use of innovative materials. Fundamental was the support of Erreà, which also guided the students in integrating sustainable practices, promoting a production process more attentive to the environment and to the values of social responsibility.
The winning jersey was selected through a social media vote among three finalist proposals. The final choice went to the design by Maria Alessia Bertocchi: a jersey that tells the story of Pontedera Calcio through symbolic details, such as the 60 lines dedicated to the club’s record points total in 2023, the 11 stripes referencing the team and the bridge symbol of the city, and the hexagons inspired by the historic victory against the national team in 1994. A design that weaves together memory, identity, and garnet pride.
