Design, technology and research converge in Modartech’s projects, with a calendar of events that reflects the Institute’s commitment to promoting innovation in fashion on an international scale. A key milestone in this journey is the collaboration with the Biorobotics Institute of Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna, launched within the Master’s in Fashion Hi-Tech and aimed at exploring new frontiers between creativity, design and technological applications.
The first event takes place on Friday, September 26 in Pisa, during Bright Night – The Researchers’ Night, where Istituto Modartech will join forces with the Textile Robotics Lab of the Biorobotics Institute at the “Fashionable Robotics” stand. Visitors will be taken on a journey through fashion and technology, with hi-tech garments featuring integrated LEDs, interactive fabrics and experimental prototypes, offering an immersive experience that merges creativity and science. This initiative celebrates interdisciplinarity between science and fashion, showing how the meeting of creativity, technology and research can generate innovation and progress.
The next appointment will be held in China on Monday, October 20, with the workshop “Textile Robotics: a (R)evolution of Materials,” organized by the Biorobotics Institute of Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna within the IROS 2025 conference. The event will delve into the role of smart textiles in wearable robotics, a rapidly growing field with applications ranging from rehabilitation to workplace safety. On this occasion, Modartech, actively engaged in international research projects, will contribute with an award, strengthening its commitment to supporting research and fostering global dialogue between fashion and technology.
