Interview with Francesca Guidozzi

Today we meet Francesca Guidozzi, a former student of the Fashion Design course.

Istituto Modartech is always attentive to the development of a creative universe for its students maintaining a close relationship with the panorama of the “fashion system” and with the companies that represent it and creating internship and placement opportunities in close contact with established industry professionals.

Today we meet Francesca Guidozzi, a former student of the Fashion Design course, who tells us about the developments of her academic and professional experience.

Francesca started her career as a young designer presenting the “CreActivity Book” collection at the Modartech Fashion Show | Responsibility in Pontedera, at the Fashion Graduate Italia event in Milan and at the final of the 25th edition of the International Lab of Mittelmoda – The Fashion Award.

1. What is the message launched by the “CreActivity Book” collection?

The CreActivity Book collection takes inspiration from childhood, which should always be a source of light-heartedness, laughter and play, but unfortunately this is not always the case.

The creative proposal is a message addressed to the children who are victims of violence and abuse every day.

I started from the premise that all children have the right to play and have fun and for this I used colors and shapes that recall the light-heartedness of childhood.

Creative recycling is another key element of the collection. My proposal contains recycled materials, because I believe that recycling is the best way to help this planet.

2. Once you graduated as a young Fashion Designer, how was your first impact with the world of work?

Positive, the knowledge and skills that I have acquired during the training course at Istituto Modartech allowed me to present myself to the work world with skills that can be effectively used and thanks to the Institute’s job placement service I immediately carried out an internship at the Benetton Group Sisley brand.

Here I was able to work in the style office, creating sketches, collaborating with the model makers and participating in the presentations of the collections. In that context I was able to get an idea of how a fashion company works.

Francesca during her studies at Istituto Modartech had the opportunity to work on a project, coming in contact with important fashion brands with the Peuterey & Lectra Talent project.

3. What advice do you feel to give to young people who are entering the career of fashion designers?

The advice I give to who want to embark on a path in the fashion world is to always have their dream in mind, to carry it forward firmly and always have the urge and desire to achieve their goals.
