The Upcycling Project

A project between Istituto Modartech, DHL Express Italy and the National Chamber of Italian Fashion.

Istituto Modartech finalist in the contest launched by DHL and Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana with three emerging designers: Erika Guarino wins the prize.

It all started with an educational workshop that involved some students of the Three-year Course in Fashion Design called to reinterpret the old uniforms of DHL couriers in an upcycling key with new fashion concepts. A path marked by briefs, analysis of garments, sketches and presentations of unconventional outfits born from disused uniforms capable of embracing genderless aesthetics, and dreaminess.

Among the proposals presented in the form of graphic sketches, those of the designers Erika Guarino, Alessia Leone and Alberto Santarnecchi were selected, which will be shared on the DHL Express Italy social channels and voted by the Instagram community through a survey that will elect the final winner.

The prize up for grabs is really high: the designer who receives the most votes will have the opportunity to produce and present their garment at the Fashion Hub of the National Chamber of Italian Fashion in Milan, one of the top cities in the world of fashion.
