The word goes to Azzurra Salerno, young designer modartech former student in the communication area; a precious testimony of a study path that has resulted in highly qualified work experiences.
1.Who are you and what do you do?
My name is Azzurra Salerno, a thirty year old with a strong interest in visual communication, fashion and advertising and everything related to the Web.
I deal with Web Design, HTML coding and its implementation in WordPress, with SEO Specialist knowledge for improve the visibility of a website on search engines, but I also deal with advertising graphics, photography and digital post production.
Right now I work at the PALP – Palazzo Pretorio di Pontedera – as Social Media Manager, Graphic Designer and Web Designer, and I have responsibility for Communication and press review management for the exhibitions created by Fondazione Pontedera per la Cultura.
2. What led you to Istituto Modartech and why did you choose it?
My training, started by the Dini scientific high school, passing through the university experience, came to Istituto Modartech both for having heard it well and for the numerous events organized by the institute. Here, finally, I found “my” school! A school where I was able to give concreteness and completeness to my “true” passions, specialize and expand my knowledge in the Web environment.
A deserving school, where highly trained teachers, have supported me with professionalism and competence, stimulating me also in undertaking new and further paths, not foreseen in my initial project, offering me the opportunity to also take advantage of private and personalized lessons. Last but not least, a school which, both with the compulsory training period and in compliance with its accompanying objectives after qualification, aims to encourage comparison and insertion into the world of work.
3. What advice would you give to anyone who wants to pursue a career like yours?
The resourcefulness is surely indispensable to succeed in this constantly evolving sector. But it is equally important not to focus on a single subject and to range in multiple cultural fields, to cultivate different interests, without ever disdaining the goal of improvement in the research method. Another fundamental aspect is that of mastering operational tools and therefore it is necessary never to abandon the insights, even theoretical, of the knowledge already acquired.
