A Fashion School is valid if provides its students with the right tools to be attractive in the world of work. Creativity and talent are fundamental but not sufficient requirements. The ideas and the passion for fashion if they are not adequately cultivated and conveyed towards an ad hoc path, do not allow to enter the market. The skills combined with creativity are the best business card for those who want to work in fashion.

We asked three questions to Elisa Picchia young fashion designer, former students of the under graduate course in Fashion Design.

1. Who are you and what do you do?

I’m Elisa, I’m 23 years old and immediately after the course at Istituto Modartech I started an internship at Conte of Florence.

1 year later, I am still part of this company’s product office. Before starting to study, I wanted to be able to work in a company’s product office one day and so it happened.

I deal with the research of fabrics and everything that is part of clothing. I am constantly in contact with foreign and Italian suppliers. From the beginning I took care of the outerwear, now I’m starting to take care of clothing too.

During the training of the 3 years I also saw a contest that brought me to broadcast the facts of yours in the section Moda di Moda with the presentation of a dress inspired by water.

2. What brought you to Istituto Modartech and why did you choose it?

After high school I was looking for a school that really could made me understand that fashion was my way. Searching on the internet I found Istituto Modartech and I decided to try. This school managed to make me understand what I really wanted to do in life and motivated me from start to finish.

3. What advice would you give to those who want to pursue a career like yours?

My advice is to try to accomplish what you want to do, if you don’t, at least you’ve tried. The important thing is to be determined and to want and not be afraid of not being “enough”, because we are all up to it.

Elisa is only at the beginning of a long and promising career in the world of the fashion system that we are sure will see her protagonist of numerous successes and we at Istituto Modartech make her our best wishes for a life full of achievements and satisfactions.
